Ceyana offers courses in kayak and canoe for beginners to intermediate paddlers. If you are unsure what course to take, or if you want to request a course for four or more members, contact our Education Chair. Ceyana courses are for members only and are taught by an instructor approved by the club. Courses run in inclement weather unless it is unsafe. Plan to dress for the weather. Courses are cancelled 5-7 days in advance if there is insufficient registration, pool sessions or courses that involve the club to make a prepaid booking may be cancelled 14 days or more in advance if there is insufficient registrations-- book early! Registration fees are refunded for courses cancelled by the club.

A note to non-members...

Registrants are advised to sign up for club membership well in advance if you interested in a course or trip and are not already a member. As an organization wholly run by volunteers we do not have a full time admin to immediately answer questions or handle website issues. Membership payments paid by credit card are usually confirmed much faster than e-transfers or cheques. Our membership term runs through the calendar year so signing up early ensures you receive all pre-season club updates and early notification of courses and trips.

Can I Bring A Guest to a Ceyana Activity? 

It depends on the activity. Who is considered a guest? A person who is NOT a club member.

May I bring a guest to a:

•        Canoe/kayak/educational program – NO
•        Overnight/out of town trip – NO
•        Local free on the water activity/paddling centres – YES
•        Local shore event/social – YES

Why all the rules abouts guests? It has to do with liabilities and what our insurance covers. We have a website software limitation on the word ‘guest’.

•        If you see ‘guest’ on an overnight trip or educational course registration, it means MEMBERS.
•        If you see ‘guest’ on a social, shore or free local event, it means you can bring someone who is NOT a                 member. Guests must be invited by a member, registered by that member, cannot attend events on their             own, and cannot be former Ceyana members. 
•        If you are registering a minor child for a course or trip, you must have a family membership and create a             profile for each child. Check age and experience requirements. Some events are not appropriate for young           children.
