Canoe Kayak Canada is in the process of introducing a Level 1 River module for fully trained Level 1 Lake Kayak instructors.  This module is a review of the basic river skills for Class 1 streams.  Candidate will be expected to have basic river skills (eddy turns, ferrying, river reading) and a fairly solid kayak roll.  This will be a day long workshop with both lake and a river sessions, and some theory and teaching discussions.  Some travel maybe required.

Course fee is $100 for the day, but CKC Instructors are expected to pay $120 for CKC Registry Investment Fee... but only once per season and second or more courses per season are included in the initial $120.  This registration will allow you to make both payments, or just the course fee if this is your second course this year. 

As with all coaching programs, you complete a course and become "trained", then after some time teaching/leading/coaching you arrange a certification session and it will cost another $25.
