Ceyana Canoe Club
Come paddle and overnight camp along the Pembina River. This is a relaxing 36 km run that becomes a little more scenic, and exciting with each passing km. We suspect this trip will be a mix of solo kayaks, solo and tandem canoes. If kayaking and have never camped out of your kayak... do a test loading 1st. Kayaks generally carry just a wee bit more than a good backpack.
Besides backcountry camp skills, the river will require modestly good: ferrying, eddy turns, rock & gravel bar reading and avoidance skills.
The expectation is to meet (Saturday, 10:00 AM) at the Pembina River Park day use area, then drive out to the end of Reno Road, unload and set the shuttle with minimal vehicles to be left at Reno Rd. And all should be home for an early supper Sunday!
All participants are encouraged to make their own arrangements for bringing their own boat/ related gear, tent, camp supplies and food. Similarly, tandem canoers should look for partners within the group if you do not already have a partner. Kayakers may need to consider deydrated food due to space requirements. Trip coordinators have limited capacity to carry additional people/equipment. Anyone needing to borrow club equipment should make arrangements at least 14 days in advance. https://ceyanacanoeclub.wildapricot.org/Equipment
