Ceyana Canoe Club
Join Tim Swanson and Clare Mullen with our local historian and interpreter Tim Marriott on another historical paddle on the North Saskatchewan River, to the original centre of the western NW Territories. We will examine the river as a fur trade route and its transition to an agricultural centre. Friction and armed conflicts occurred as the old ways of life gave way to a new. Stops along the way will involve short walks.
This section of the NSR is similar to the paddle through Edmonton. Participants will need basic river skills (good boat control strokes, ferrying, eddy turns, etc.), and camping skills.
