This is to be a gentle "fair weather" paddle on Coal Lake, the longest lake in the Gwynne "outlet."  Present plan is to meet at 10:00 AM.  At that time we can decide on our group energy level and plan an for one of: an out and back paddle, shuttle and paddle the whole 17 km, or paddle all or most of the way south and get towed back... slowly by kicker (assuming I get it running).  Coal Lake is long and narrow (perpendicular to prevailing winds), a mix of Aspen Parkland forest, and pasture lands, with some acreages and development along the way.  All visits I have had to the lake have provided a good variety of bird life for viewing.

You are responsible for your boat, paddling gear, rain gear, safety gear, lunch, fluids, sunscreen (be positive bring lots),  and remember it is "TICK season", long pants tucked into your socks are the best prevention, post paddle body checks are a must.

If you need club gear please contact our Equipment Crew, pick-up is between 6 & 6:30 PM at the BV Storage yard.
