Ceyana Canoe Club
Now that we once again have our equipment stored next to the river... we hope to commence with biweekly river paddling sessions. These will be easy sessions, mostly involving an upstream stretch of paddling (how the voyageurs got to Edmonton!) with a leisurely drift back down to the boathouses.
Club canoes and kayaks and related gear will be available for members to use. We will have a volunteer member or two to help coordinate folk, and make sure everyone gets back safely and on time. We are asking participants to register (no charge) so that we can control the group size and anticipate needs prior to everyone's arrival. Members are welcome to bring their own boats and gear, and may choose to put in at the Laurier Park boat launch. If requiring club gear please meet at the B V seacans at 6:45 PM. If bringing your own gear plan to unload at 7:15 PM at the Laurier Park Boat launch. By 7:30 PM we should all be heading upstream.
Participants should have good flat water skills and some concept of ferrying and eddy turns on the river.
Please come prepared for the expected weather, a possible swim, and fluids for refreshment... and best all in a dry bag.
